The International Organization of Physiotherapy in Mental Health (IOPTMH) has been characterized by promoting physiotherapy based on a global vision of people, where
human body movement and mental health are part of the interest of the 30 member
countries. Today the Colombian Mental Health Physiotherapy Group and the Colombian Physiotherapy associations are pleased to host the first international meeting of the IOPTMH in Latin America. This magnificent congress will take place on September 19, 20 and 21 in the city of Barranquilla.
Hosted by the Colombian Mental Health Physiotherapy Group and the Colombian Physiotherapy Association, this significant event will take place from September 17th on a day of pre-conference courses, on the 18th with an activity to promote mental health in natural environments, and the 10th Conference on September 19th, 20th and 21, 2024 in the city of Barranquilla, a coastal city where the Magdalena River ends its long journey to the Caribbean Sea. The city is the birthplace of renowned musicians, writers, and artists, where the sea, the breeze, and mental health will create the perfect combination.
The president of the Colombian Association of Physiotherapy, Dr. Liliana Guarin, says that "We will live an experience in mental health, hand in hand with practical workshops, conversations, conferences, presentation of experiences and without a doubt: The breeze, the sea and the warmth of one of the most visited cities in Colombia, Barranquilla."
